Vets: Get up to $9,000 for Your Education

Between November 2007 and July 2008 DeVry University and Amvets will join forces to award 10-$1,000 scholarship programs each semester to eligible veterans looking for an undergraduate degree through a DeVry general program or a graduate program through the school’s Keller Graduate School of Management. This is no small scholarship program. Consider the fact that DeVry has schools spread throughout 25 states. This means veterans interested in an undergrad or grad degree in a professional or technical program have widespread access to these scholarships. All told, 30 scholarships will be awarded.

Who is Eligible?

  • Veterans of any U.S. military branch or a dependent of the same.
  • Applicants must be U.S. citizens.
  • You must prove financial need.
  • Must be enrolling in an undergraduate degree program with DeVry University or in a graduate program with Keller Graduate School of Management.
  • Students must enroll for full- or half time. No awards will be given for less than half-time status.
  • Degree programs may be traditional or online.
  • Must not qualify for other military tuition assistance.

How to Apply:

  • Download the application from Amvets.
  • Write a compelling two-page essay on one of three topics listed on the application.
  • Applications must be mailed to Amvets at the address provided on the application. There are four semester deadlines listed on the application. Application packages must be received by one of the deadlines.

Scholarship recipients must maintain 2.0 GPAs to keep scholarships renewable over the course of their degree program. Full-time students receive the full $1,000 per semester and half-time students receive $500 per semester. Winners must enroll within two semesters following announcement of their award.
